Explore
The Explore functionality is a key feature of configure8 that allows users to "ask questions" of their infrastructure and get the answers they need. Explore allows users to create infrastructure queries without having to know any specific query language and then visualize their answers.
To view your queries, select Explore from the top line menu. There you will see the queries you have created.

To create a new query, click the + New Query button on the upper right side of the screen. Fill in the information and choose the main source of the data you want to look at. (You can change it later if you want to - or just create another query.)

Now you can create your query and instantly see the results on the right side of the screen.

There are two types of things you can do on a data source. You can define a Relationship Filter and Property Types. (Yes you can do more than one of each)
Relationship filters connect different infrastructure sources together for you to query. For example, you might want to know all the services that use a certain environment (maybe it went down). You would create a Relationship filter between Services and Environments.
This table shows the different relationship filters that are possible.

Property Types are filters on a particular data source. Using our example above, if you wanted to know the Services that use a QA environment, your data source would be Services. Then you would create a Relationship Filter with Environments and then you would add a Property Type to Environments asking for only ones that contain QA in the name.
Every data sources has different properties to filter on. The table below shows that list and what filters you can apply to them.
